31 October 2010    Requiem by Frank van Nimwegen ,
St. Petrus Church, Hilvarenbeek. Time: 15:00h (provisional), as part of the All Souls' Day celebration. The Catholic Mis voor de overledenen (Mass for the Deceased) has inspired many composers to write the most beautiful music. One of them is Frank van Nimwegen. The traditional Latin texts - composed in Gregorian style and inspired by the work of Maurice Duruflé - are interleaved with texts composed in British choral style, unified into a piece full of atmosphere. The work was written for soprano, choir, clarinet ensemble and organ. Composer, organist and conductor Van Nimwegen is of Brabant origin, born in 1961 in Gilze.

Let us introduce ourselves: Kempenkoor is a large amateur choir that strives for the top of its class. We specialize in large works from western classical music, from baroque to contemporary, religious and secular, single or double choir, performed together with professional orchestras and soloists. A good team spirit and personal commitment are essential for maintaining this high level of quality. Our residence is Veldhoven, but our geographical range of operation is much wider, as the name Kempenkoor already indicates.
